A new Greek restaurant is opening near a shopping center in Irving.

Nick the Greek opened its doors Friday at 7707 N. MacArthur Blvd. suite 110. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at the MacArthur Park shopping center.

The restaurant serves various types of pitas, gyro plates, falafel and souvlaki. Salads, fries and hummus round out the Greek-inspired menu.

The restaurant gets its name from the three cousins who started the chain — Baby Nick, Big Nick and Little Nick. The cousins ventured to Greece and realized there was nowhere near northern California for a quality gyro, thus launching the restaurant concept in 2014.

The Irving location is Nick’s third Texas restaurant, after opening two in College Station. A majority of the chain’s locations are in California, followed by restaurants in Nevada, Utah and Kansas.

Nick the Greek is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 7707 N. MacArthur Blvd. suite 110, Irving.
